Rosslyn Slug Line

Location: Two separate lines in Arlington. The first is between North Moore Street and North Fort Myer Drive on the Lee Hwy service road. (approximately 1995 North Moore Street Arlington, VA 22209 US), and the second is on North Kent Street.

Description:

One set of slug lines form on Lee Hwy service road between North Moore Street and North Fort Myer Drive. It is approximately 1.5 blocks from its original location which was across the street from the Rosslyn Metro stop. Now, you must exit the metro station (west entrance) and turn left which is a northern direction. The line itself is on the Lee Hwy service road between N. Moore and N. Fort Myer Drive. Signs have been erected to help locate the lines.

A new slug line was recently started on North Kent Street for the Springfield/Burke slugs. Turn onto North Kent Street and about 100 feet on the right at the speed-limit sign. See Flyer details or visit the Message Board for discussion.

Best Hours:

Service Road line: 3:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Line begins forming by 3:15 p.m., with the peak time at 4:30 p.m.

North Kent Street Line: 4:45 p.m - 5:15 p.m

Drivers:

Service Road Line: Drivers usually come down North Moore Street (towards the Key Bridge) or 19th Street to access the Lee hwy service road. It's a bit tricky, but drivers must pull into the service road off of 19th Street which is not clearly marked. The service road parallels N. Fort Myer drive before it bends around to the right where the slug lines are located.

North Kent Street Line: Go east on Wilson Blvd. and turn left on North Kent Street. North Kent is one way. After picking up slugs to access Rt. 110, you can either bear left onto 19th street, right onto North Lynn Street and then one block to the Lee Hwy. Or, follow North Kent St. to Arlington Ridge Rd and turn right. At the end of Arlington Ridge Rd you will go straight across Wilson Blvd onto Rt. 110 on-ramp.

Parking: Meter parking along most streets as well as pay parking garages.

Metro Station: Rosslyn Station. Blue and Orange lines. 75 yards from slug lines.
