Banner ads are text and pictures typically placed on high traffic web sites. When you click on a banner ad, it sends you to the advertised web site. Banner ads are not the magic solution to your advertising needs, but in most cases they help.

We work banner ads different than most places. Generally if you purchase a banner ad on another website on the internet, you will pay for what is called impressions. Impressions is nothing more than how many times your ad appears on the site.  For example, you may pay $100 for 2000 impressions. That means that your ad appears 2000 times, but it doesn't mean that every person who visited the site saw your ad.  If your ad is one of many that are rotated through that site, chances are, many people never saw your ad.   A slightly better method of using a banner ad is click rate. Click rate means that you pay for every click on your banner. Again, your banner is most likely not going to be displaced for every visitor, but you do get a more targeted audience for your money. Click through prices are usually much higher than impression rates.

Slug-Lines.com has what we feel is a better approach to banner ads. We display your ad everyday for every visitor on the page(s) you select. This means that everyone visiting those pages that your ad is on, will see your ad. We offer banner ads on just about every page on the Slug-lines.com website. We have very few restriction on a banner ad, except that they be in the size specified below. On the main page we offer both static ads and rotating banners. This is the only place we offer rotating ads. All ads must follow our rules and policies. The only other restriction we have on banner ads is placement of the ad. We have certain areas that we will place an ad.

Believe it or not, people are more likely to click on an ad if it is placed in certain locations. The "prize" spot for most business is the top of the page. The Homepage page offers a chance to be seen first, but may not be the location that draws the most attention. Placing an ad at the bottom of a page is probably the least likely location for an ad, but if the same ad is at the top and the bottom, studies show that the chances of the visitor clicking on the banner increases. Ads placed about 1/3 the way down on a page or on the right hand side of the page, near the bottom draw the greatest possibility of being clicked. Slug-Lines.com offers the top and bottom spots of every page, the left side of the page under the menu items, and on select pages 1/3 the way down and left bottom corner spots. Please contact Slug-Lines.com if you have a location and page that interests you. All of our ads are placed on a first come first served manner. This means that if a spot is taken by another company, then they have have that spot for as long as they make payment. The banner ads on the homepage are on a monthly basis. All other banner ads are on a 3, 6 or 12 month basis.

How do I get a banner on the Homepage (front page)?

We currently offer four locations on the home page for paid advertisers. One is on the top right side middle of the page. This location is a rotating banner ad, which means that your ad space is shared with other advertisers and appears on the site at timed intervals. On average your add will appear for three seconds with a maximum of five advertisers.  So, one ad will be seen at a minimum of every 15 seconds if rotated with five advertisers.  The second location is on the bottom center of the page and third is on the left and right margins. These spaces are on a quarterly basis. This means that you must renew your space for the quarter. You can reserve it for a 12 month maximum. This allows others to advertise on these high exposure spaces. We reserve the right to add more spaces without notice.

Will you offer more advertising spaces on the front page?

To remove your link, you must send email to the webmaster. Please include your name and email address (at time link was submitted) in your email. All ads will be automatically be removed at the end of the advertising paid period. You can resubmit your ad at anytime.
