Navy Yard

Location: 1275 Patterson Ave SE
Washington, DC 20003

Old location: Washington 1/2 block east of the Isaac Hull/NAVSEA (6th street) gate along the brick wall.

Description: In March 2015, two Slug-lanes were established on the Washington Navy Yard for afternoon commuters. This pilot is approved by NSA-Washington and will be facilitated by NAVSEA.

DESTINATIONS: The two locations, selected based on a zip code analysis, are:
1) Horner Road - Woodbridge
2) Rte 610 - Stafford.

The slug line locations will be on Patterson Ave, the one-way (northbound) street on the East side of the Bldg 28 parking garage.
Signs will be posted on the left-side sidewalk.  The Horner road pick up point will be on the Northeast corner of Bldg 176, and the Rte. 610 pick-up point will be at the Northeast corner of Bldg 201.  Lines should form to the West between the buildings, and not along the roadside sidewalk.

Old Location: The line forms near the brick wall next to the 6th street gate. The Horner Road line forms at 5th and M St SE, across from the Navy Yard.

Hint for Riders:  There is now a returning slug line that forms at the National Aquarium just around the corner from Penn on 14th Street! Or, if a driver calls for Tackett’s Mill, ask if you can get off at Old Hechinger’s before you get into the car. Since it is on the way, most drivers will not object as long as you ask before accepting the ride.
