I have picked up slugs for approximately 19 years and never have I been disrespected in such a way as I was tonight.

I picked a gentleman up at the Pentagon for Rt 610 Mine Road. He was not a big man in size. He had more than enough room in my Ford Explorer to accommodate him, his briefcare, and his rather large umbrella. I noticed upon getting settled in my vehicle that he moved the car seat but I thought nothing of it...UNTIL he got out of my car at the lot - - - he had unbuckled my daughter's CAR SEAT!!!

Is it just me or is this RUDE??!! A beach towel is placed on the car seat for anyone to place their items if needed.

WHAT IF ... IF I took my daughter to day care and God forbid I was in a wreck and did not know that her seat was not buckled.

Am I over reacting? I would love to meet up with him again and if I do see him waiting in line - I would inform him of his error!

He should have had the decency to first ask if it was ok, and then re-attached anything he un-did when he went to get out.

It was rude, and dangerous.

This is a shared system folks. Most of us were raised with manners, it's time to start using them.

XOXO- sluggin' girl

You are not over reacting, he shouldn't have unbuckled the car seat.

This gets back to last weeks forum on Rules. Some slugs don't follow any guide lines at all.

You are right in being upset. It's not just rude, it could have been a bad situation if you hadn't noticed!

I don't think you are overreacting. He should have asked if it was OK to unbuckle it and should have offered to rebuckle it when you got to the destination.

Is it possible he couldn't find the buckle for his belt and thought the one to the car seat was for his seat? Sometimes the buckles get pushed down between the seat cushions and he might not have seen the one for his seat.

OK. So you assumed that he moved the seat but DID NOT HAVE to unbuckle it?

Maybe it was LAREADY UNBUCKLED?

Is it you or just rude? Well, I think your assumptions make you rude, or is that just me?

Are you over-reacting?

Yes! So, lets ask a few questions. Is tha car seat in the middle position of three across the back seat and is it uncomfortable to sit with the child seat in that position. Do you place it in the middle to make it convenient for you to attand to your child WHILE DRIVING?

If you see the gentleman again, will you just launch into him when you do not know that he actually did what you accuse him of? Or, will you ask if the seat is in the way and offer to move it? Or, will you move it aside to RESPECT your fellow passengers?

WOW!

SuZanne - the seat is probably in the middle because that is the place in the car parents are told is safest for your child.

juleskitt -He should have asked and you are not over-reacting, but it might have been an accident. It is possible that the rider unbuckled by accident looking for his slot and the seat got shoved during settling and he didn't realize. People who are not parents and/or haven't been for a long time don't realize how IMPOSSIBLE those seats are to get in place properly.

I would love to see some lady just start yelling at a stranger in the morning. Better than a cup of joe if you ask me.
