I am trying to update the website with new maps and satellite images to improve the site. Originally, I hand drew every map using Powerpoint because the mapping features on the internet were not available, so that tells you how old some of the maps are...
Anyway, I would ask that you take a look at the webpage that supports your slug line and let me know what is incorrect or needs updating.
To any Slugs who use Bob's in Springfield. I just updated the maps but I am sure I did not get this one correct. Here is the page: http://www.slug-lines.com/AM_Lines/Bobs.asp

With both the Chi-Chi's and Long John Silver's long gone, I don't know of anyone who refers to this location as anything but Bob's.
The morning pick up is now on the other side of Old Keene Mill (south side), in a commuter parking lot that the county put in a few years ago on the site of the old Circuit City building. Many riders now park in that lot, although riders still park in the lot you have indicated in your map and satellite picture. Note that most drivers still drop off riders in the lot on the north side of Old Keene Mill in the pm. |

The new Telegraph Road lot is finally picking up a lot of riders that the sluggers are now having to wait for cars as opposed to cars waiting for riders. However, the starting point for the lead car seems to be the middle of the parking lane (see map). Once there are three cars in line, the fourth and subsequent cars are now in a parking row and are difficult to see from the line. If the cars would just pull toward the entrance of that line, it would make it much easier for the other cars to be seen. We attempt to tell the lead car to pull up, but they don't. It would be nice if we could have some direction at this lot, much like they did when Ikea was built in the original commuter parking lot. There volunteers put up signs to make where the Pentagon, Downtown and Rosslyn lines were. |

The map is showing the Lorton slug line at the auto-train location. It is at the VRE station location. |

KeithO, thanks for the information! This is very good news and will make 610 a huge slugging hub. Thanks again.

The afternoon Navy Yard line info on this site isn't correct. In 2015, someone did decide to start a new line at the '1275 Patterson Ave SE Washington, DC 20003' address. But that line is on a military base, which is inaccessible to the majority of the slugs in the area. It never replaced the old line. For a little while, both lines were active, but I don't think anyone actually uses the Patterson Ave line now to get to Horner Road. Someone else will need to chime in about the Stafford destination, because I have no idea if it's used. There is still no Stafford line off-base that I'm aware of. The other, more recent change is that the off-base line to Horner moved a couple of blocks in 2016. Long story short: the afternoon Navy Yard line to Horner Road is now located at 300 M St SE, Washington, DC 20003. I slug from there every day and I see many people who work on-base. That's why I don't think anyone is using the on-base line. There just aren't enough slugs to support two Navy Yard lines to Horner Rd.

If you look at the photo in the Google Map 360 view, there's a tree that marks where we line up in front of the office building. It's on your left as you look from the street, or on your right as you come out of the building. A lot of other people wait by the doors for commuter vans, etc., but they aren't slugs. It can be very confusing for new people, drivers and slugs alike.
