Fellow slugs,
Lately there has been an increase in litter in many of the commuter lots in Northern Virginia. Hundreds of people pass by this litter and are forced to see it every day. I am working on obtaining the proper tools for roughly ten volunteers to go around and help clean up this trash at least once a month. In order to do this we will need your help. We are trying to raise $500 for the proper supplies including: litter pick-up tools (grabbers and paper picker sticks) as well as gloves, bag holders and bags. Even the smallest contribution will help. Thank you for your support and helping keep our commuter lots litter free!

| That's actually the first thing I thought of, but they informed me that none of the commuter lots are covered under Adopt-A-Highway...I did end up adopting a nice little stretch of road in the process though! |

In addition to contributing via the website, I'd also like to add my name to your list as a volunteer to do the actual clean-up. Is there some place I can sign up, or email you to add my name to your list? |

Shaun, I think this is a wonderful idea, and would love to help you in any way possible. I have noticed the litter especially at the Horner Rd lot, and have always thought something should be done to clean it up. I'm glad to see someone doing just that!
