I am currently taking the metro from Franconia to Rosslyn and it costs a little more than I would like. So, I am considering slugging from the Lorton VRE to the Pentagon and then taking the metro into Rosslyn. But does anyone know if there are plenty of rides from the VRE to the Pentagon?
Also I need to be to work by 8am, so what time should I try to be at Lorton VRE?
I want to try this to save some money but don't want to end up late to work or left with no way to get there.
Also is it still the case that no one really goes from the Pentagon back the Lorton VRE?

If you're going to Rosslyn from the Lorton area, you might try the Sydenstricker slug line on the FC Parkway. You can get there from either Rolling Rd, Pohick/Gambrill Rds, or Hooes Rd.
It's fairly easy to get rides to either Rosslyn or the Pentagon there. And it's also easy to get rides back there in the pm from the Pentagon, and from Rosslyn to a lesser extent. But get there before 7:15 am because the lot fills up by then.
