This message is the about telephone sevice for my home and the small business I run out of my home. I have cancelled all service with Verizon including 2 cell phones, one home land line and 3 yellow page ads do to their lack of customer service, overcharging of phone service and their non-compliance of the phone service contract they signed with me.
The Verizon telephone company has been the biggest nightmare I have ever encountered. Just trying to get a hold of the appropriate person to talk to in the customer service dept. is akin to getting a pass to enter the war room at the Pentagon.
Five Months ago I dropped their service and paid my last bill. Every month since then I have received another bill. Each month I call the customer service dept. to question the validity of the bill and the customer service person agrees that the bill should not have been sent. The c.s.p. also states they will enter into their computer the appropriate information so that I will never get another bill. You guessed it. The next month I get another bill and the process of calling them and having a chat with another c.s.p. starts all over again. This has gone on since November of 2002. Now when I call the same number they give on their bill to call for billing questions I can't get through at all to the dept. I need to talk to.
Out of all the phone companies I've delt with including T.Mobile, S.W.Bell, Sprint, A.T&T. and Verizon, Verizon by far is the worse. I have also dropped all advertising with them because they refuse to work with their customers. For example I had three ads in three different verizon books. I wanted to pay one of the ads off and continue with monthly payments on the others. They refused saying I would have to pay them all off at the same time or continue paying monthly on all. I did not have this trouble with S.W.Bell though when I asked to do the same thing.
With the Verizon cell phones I had to call every month to dispute charges on the bill. These charges would be dropped only to show up the next month and the next month.
To top it all off, Verizon arbitrarily changed the perameters of my cell phone local calling area. The reason I chose them in the first place (for my cell phone service) was the city my brother lives in was considered a local call on the cell phone. He lives in my state but it is still a long distance call on my house phone. O.K. So for over a year I call him locally on my cell phone. All of a sudden I'm getting long distance charges on my cell phone bill for calling him. I call Verizon and ask why. They say his city is not on my local calling plan.I tell them it has been on my plan for over a year. They promptly tell me I'm wrong and that another city is on my local plan instead of his. Of course I never call this other city so I see what's going on here.
I'm done bitching but I strongly urge everyone out there who uses any Verizon service to watch them closely.
A class action law suit has already been filed against them for breaking contracts with customers, overcharging customers, false charges on bills, etc.

I'm sorry about your plight, but what does this have to do with slugging? I'm not trying to be unsympathetic, but I'm starting to get annoyed at logging on to the slugging message board and seeing messages that have NOTHING to do with slugging. I'm sure that there are other forums for this sort of announcement.
