Wow. Consultants are intentionally over-estimating revenue projections for toll road projects across the country. And who picks up the tab when the revenue isn't generated? Taxpayers.

I attended the 95 HOT meetings, and I can tell you that they really have no way of knowing how much revenue will be generated. This in an environment ripe for corruption as the article documents.

Hey, Dog Bites Man, what a surprise. Tollers shop around the "consultants" until they get revenue projections that fit their needs.

Unfortunately for us, the level of traffic on 95/395 is so huge that their projections won't need to be inflated to secure bonds for our Tool Road.

In fact, the estimates will be low, because Fluor/Transurban cannot publish a study with the true eventual rates of >$30 one way from F'burg.

If those projected rates from the MWCOG ever get in a front page article in the Post, the Limo Lanes argument is back in play.

Bob, we all appreciate you keeping an eye on that bubbling HOT pot for us!
