Buried on the "Federal Page" of the Washington Post was a new law which slashes highway funds to any state whose police department participates in "enforcement of laws requiring a minimum number of occupants per vehicle." Unless I'm reading it wrong, they are talking HOV!!!

Seems that some congressperson from the "heartland" of America (MOOoooo!) doesn't want police funds being used to enforce HOV. So he attaches a rider to the highway bill and BAM, it slips through.

The Virginia Police were quoted as saying that until the law is overturned (which they predicted it would be), this bill would prevent HOV enforcement so they have been trying to aggressive enforce HOV in the last few days before the ban on enforcement begins today.

We really shouldn't be worried about a few parking spots on Interstate Drive or the fact that Uhura has circumvented her ban by adding a period to the end of her username. This is WAY more important and THREATENS SLUGGING AS WE KNOW IT!!!
