I am new to slugging but my job has created the need for me to get to the Pentagon early. Would like to coordinate a ride near the OK Mill Road and Rolling Road intersection at or about 0530.

Livick,

0530 is a bit early since the HOV-3 restriction doesn't go on until 0600. If you leave that early, you can drive yourself and use the HOV lanes as a "single" since you'd be at the Pentagon before 0600 from that OKM Rd start point. I've done that several times from the RVM/Burke area myself when I used to work at the P'gon. Good luck.
Keep on sluggin'! [:)]

LIVICK,

Slugging from the Springfield/Burke area before 0600 ia pretty much next to impossible. After that the lines at the Shell next to Einstein Bros. and Daventry work pretty well. If you have to be at work before 0615, it is tough without driving. The earliest buses up Old Keane Mill to the Pentagon don't arrive until about 0620. If you have to drive, the Pentagon is not parking friendly either, since you need a pass. One-person passes are hard to get without justification or a long wait period. If you can find one co-worker who either wants to carpool or does not drive at all you can go to the parking office and get a 2-, 3- or 4-member carpool pass right away. The only other option is to drive to Springield metro and ride the train from there. They used to give metrochecks to people in the Pentagon to help cover the cost, but if not, it gets expensive quickly. My info may be a couple years old, but I think it is still about this way there.
