I have been considering picking up riders from the lot on Route 234, between Route 1 and I-95.

The map on this site didn't give me enought detail, so I drove past and took a look.

Standing on the bust stop island were a group of people clearly waiting for a ride. They were facing out towards Route 234.

Are these slugs? If so, to what destinations? Pentagon? 14th? 18th?

There was also a long line of cars waiting for slugs. the cars were lined up around the back of the lot, so the car at the front of the line was at the back side of the bus island.

Again, is that car line the line of cars waiting for slugs? If so, to what destinations? Pentagon? 14th? 18th?

Thanks,
Jeff

There is only one line of cars, but it is a mix of destinations. The slugs walk along the line until they reach a car going their way.

People facing out to 234 are waiting for the bus. They don't wish to slug, the poor deluded souls.

As a driver, when you pull into the lot, go all the way to the back, turn right, go all the way, turn right, etc., until you come to the back of the bus shelter. It is OK, if you are not first in line, to gopher up out of your car and call your destination out to the slugs. Usually though, slugs will come down the line looking for a ride.

Please don't become one of the rude people who try to entice slugs into their cars at the back of the line. Our whole system is based on trust and etiquette, but there are an increasing number of people who ignore the conventions of the line. Smart slugs ignore THEM.

SpongeBob,

Thanks for the info.

Can you give me an estimate of the destination frequency? Mostly Pentagon? 14th? Any 18th?

Also, it lloks like tight quarters in the car line. If slugs walk down to your car for a ride to 14th and you are behind 3 cars going to the Pentagon, do you have space to pull out? Or are you stuck in line till the others advance?

Thanks,
Jeff

Not sure of the answers. The lot is full and the line is mostly done by 7:00 a.m., which is usually the sign of the military slug: early, early, early.

It's the unusual car that gets filled fastest. If everyone in line is going to the Pentagon, you'll get out earlier if you are willing to go to 18th or 14th St.

Don't worry about the space: most drivers will make room for you to pull out, especially the person behind you who gets to move up.
