Pentagon to S Run Rec Ctr (Res Rd. & Pwy)?

   Any commnets on the possibility of getting a ride from the Pentagon to South Run Rec Center (Reservation Rd. and Fairfax County Parkway) in the afternoon? The commuter lot at Sydenstriker, about 2 miles closer to 95 on the Parkway, is the standard destination.  I don't get up early enough in the morning to park in that lot -- it's full by 7 to 7:15.  South Run is listed as having commuter parking.  (Has anyone ever parked there and taken a bus?)  The 18R bus stops nearby.  I could easily park and get on the bus in the morning.  However, evening connections are not so great and the 18R only runs about every 35 minutes.  I could slug to the commuter lot and take the 18R from there, but would be standing and waiting for a long time if I miss a bus.
