New to Slug & Picking Up at Bob's in Springfield

   Hello! I will be starting my new job in DC in March and a friend of mine recommended slug to dodge traffic. I've never used slugs before and completing foreign to DC so any advise would be greatly appreciated! 
My job will be on M Street NW, near Dupont Circle and Bob's in Springfield would be the closest pick up for me. 
Would 18th, 19th, or 20th street drop off be the closest to my job? If not, which drop off would be the closest to my job?
Are the above streets popular at Bob's for riders? I would need to be at work around 9am and planning to pick up maybe 7:45am-8:00am
