I've been hearing about this guaranteed ride home, but I can't find any info about it on the web. Can someone lead me in the right direction. Any help is appreciated.

Commuter Connections Guaranteed Ride Home Program
For many commuters, sharing the ride in a carpool or vanpool, taking transit, biking or walking to work means saving thousands of dollars each year. If you are taking one of these smarter ways to work, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Government's (MWCOG) Commuter Connections is making it even smarter with Guaranteed Ride Home. Guaranteed Ride Home (otherwise known as GRH) provides commuters who regularly vanpool, carpool, bike, walk, or take transit with a reliable ride home when one of life's unexpected emergencies arises. Commuters are able to use GRH for personal emergencies and unscheduled overtime up to four time per year. Best of all, the ride home by cab, rental car, bus or train is free (excluding gratuity, fuel and insurance charges). Employers! For other ways to help your employees find a smarter way to work, see Employer Services. Who's Eligible to Participate in the GRH Program? To be eligible for the GRH program you must use one of the following alternative commute modes at least twice a week, and you must use an alternate commute mode on the day you request a ride home. Alternate commute modes are: Ridesharing (carpools, vanpools) Mass transit (bus, train) Bicycling Walking Also, you must work in the Washington metropolitan area, as defined by the Metropolitan Statistical Area for Washington, D.C., and live in the Guaranteed Ride Home service area. Getting Started To begin receiving GRH benefits, use Commuter Connections' online GRH Application. or call Commuter Connections at 1-800-745-RIDE (7433). The three Arlington locations of The Commuter Store also have application forms on hand and offer assistance in filling them out. How the Program Works When an emergency arises call 1-800-745-RIDE (7433), Monday through Fridays (except holidays) from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The hours of dispatching service have been designed to best serve employees with a change in their schedule due to unexpected overtime or personal emergencies. Commuter Connections has created a network of providers who offer several transportation option to get commuters home quickly and safely. |
