New D.C. 'circulator' transit system starts in July
Jeff Clabaugh
Staff Reporter
The Downtown D.C. Circulator bus service will start service July 10, connecting Union Station to Georgetown via K Street NW, and the Southwest Waterfront to the convention center via Seventh Street NW.

The District Department of Transportation, which owns the fleet of 29 new Belgian-made, tourist-style busses, says both routes will operate from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. The service is aimed at both downtown commuters and tourists.

The group says it is aiming for annual ridership of 4.6 million people when the bus system is fully implemented in 2008.
