Thank you so much to the wonderful driver who picked me up at Stafford for Rosslyn. When she heard about the road closures she dropped us at the Springfield Metro. Was able to make it to work with only an extra 15 minutes added to my normal commute.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! |

That was a good idea- Stafford 610 to 14th street- 2 hours, 45 minutes.
This is a shared system folks. Most of us were raised with manners, it's time to start using them. XOXO- sluggin' girl |

Ended up bailing out before getting to HOV coming from Rolling Valley.
Took 495 to 295 and up South Capitol Street. Only lost about 15-20 min over regular commute |

I got on regular I-95 from Horner Road (Woodbridge) after 8:30am, as I was on a later schedule today. I was planning on getting on HOV at 9:01am, at any of the upcoming entrances (before or after Springfield interchange).
However, I heard of the massive backups, and saw the pileup just before Edsall Road... so I took Edsall Road west, and routed my GPS to get to Ballston (my destination) without using highways. I found that it was pretty easy to get on Columbia Pike, then Carlin Springs, then Glebe Road, towards Wilson Blvd. If you ever need to get to that part of Arlington in a traffic jam, I would highly recommend that route: * I-395 North * EXIT -> Edsall Road west * some local/residential roads * Columbia Pike * Carlin Springs * Glebe Road * Wilson Blvd I got to work just after 9:30am, so it only took an hour or so. Have a great weekend, everyone! |
