Participants Needed for Ft. Belvoir Focus Group!

   Slugs and Drivers,

	This is a last minute posting. Participants are needed for today's focus group, Tuesday, 22 May 2012 from 11:30 - 1:00 pm!

	

	On behalf of the US Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration, NuStats Research and Consulting will be conducting focus group sessions about Slugging. You are invited to participate! You can expect the discussion to be lively and interesting. Additionally, those who participate, will receive a light lunch and refreshments.

	

	The results of the research will inform efforts to improve the slugging experience among system users here in the Washington DC region; the findings will also benefit other regions of the country with similar interests. Similar sessions will also be held in two other locations (Houston and San Francisco) where similar ridesharing systems are currently active.

	

	If you are a driver or passenger who participates in slugging (dynamic ridesharing), or if you have participated in the past but are no longer active, we would like to invite you to join us in one of the following discussions:

	Here is the location:

	

	Ft. Belvoir:  11:30-1:00 (arrive by 11:00-11:15)

	Building 1458, Warrior Conference Room

	We will meet in building 1458 which is right off Gunston Road.

	 

	Come in Tulley gate from Route 1. At the light at the intersection with Gunston Road, turn left.

	 

	Proceed down Gunston Road until you see the new Legal Services (USALSA) building (Large red brick building close to the road #1450) on your right.  Turn right just before that building.

	 

	Go to the end of the road (building 1458 is right in front of you) and turn left or right and park in any open space. Come in the front entrance and sign in.  Tell them you are here for Gem and they will have an escort to take you to the room.

	Thanks to everyone for the tremendous response! We were able to fill all the focus groups to include the last minute Ft. Belvoir session that took place today. The response was so great that they could not take everybody that wanted to participate. That says a lot about the slugging community as we work together to improve the commute. Anyway, thanks again to everybody.

	Thanks for keeping us informed about these things. Do you happen to have any information as to the purpose of these sessions? It's clear that the Slug system is successful already - why the need for a research company to pay so much to figure that out?
