I am looking to move to the Lorton, VA area and will be commuting to Roslyn, VA. Does anyone have any ideas on where I would be able to pick up slugs?
I am thinking that the Pentagon would be a possible stop. Is there a good location in Springfield? If so, what are the best times. I checked out the Lorton Slug Lines and there was not a single person waiting. Thanks! [:)] |

A couple of drivers I know with Lorton addesses (west of I-95) drive north from Lorton on Hooes Rd, then go east on the Fairfax County Parkway. They take the first exit off the Parkway at Sydenstricker Rd, and stop by the slug line at the Sydenstricker commuter lot. (It'll be on your left on the north side of the parkway next to the Methodist Church.) They then return to the Parkway and get on the HOVs at the HOV entrance ramp just west of Springfield Mall. There are always slugs for the Pentagon, Crystal City, and Rosslyn at Sydenstricker. Best time to pick up slugs there is from 6 to about 7:30 AM. You can get return riders in the afternoon at the slug lines at the Pentagon (very reliable) and on Kent Street (usually reliable) in Rosslyn. [8D] |
