Announcement!: Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) and Department of Public Works and Environmental Services (DPWES) will hold a public meeting regarding the Springfield Community Business Center Commuter Parking Garage on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 7 p.m., at Edison High School, Cafeteria A, 5801 Franconia Road, Alexandria, VA.

Would have been great if THEY posted this info on THEIR website. I checked it before I left. Went to the school, and finally found the posted sign.....thanks Fairfax County.

Ok, went to the rescheduled meeting. Here is the new info:
They actually listened to us. Instead of the slug pickup area only handling 6 cars (before things spill out onto the street) they moved the lines MUCH further inside. So now the lines can handle 20 or so cars. The updated layout is on their website The county will continue to lease the extra parking spaces (K-Mart, Church, American Legion, etc) even after the garage is built Current construction start time is late 2019 (nope, not a typo). So, all in all I think progress is being made. The BIGGEST issue is where are they going to put us for 2.5 years during construction. That remains to be seen.
