A new slugger starting May 1st Need regular rides (on daily basis) from rolling road, springfield, to 16&H NW in DC and back... which is the best slug line to use in AM from Springfield, and PM from DC?

Thanks for replying!

The person has two options - they can go to Rolling Valley or to Bob's and catch rides down 18th or 14th.

In the PM, there are return lines at 19th and F and at 14th & Constitution. There's another one someone on 14th, but I don't know where. Suggest you check the PM Line info on the front page of this site.

s'filedslugger,

Please see my response at your other posting at the "Coordinated Rides Home" thread. It may be of some help.

Thanks both for your help... One other question, is parking on Rolling Valley free or is there a monthly parking fee? Also, what time in AM do the slug lines begin at Rolling Valley? I am looking at around 7AM.

Thanks!

Free parking at the RV commuter lot, 7 AM is a very popular time. This is a reliable lot to get rides from in the AM and to in the PM. Happy slugging!

As Raymond said, parking is free at RV. Lines start forming around 6AM. Some days you'll get a ride quickly, other days you'll wait. Monday and Friday are slower days.

I would also add that the parking at Rolling Valley is not only free but also plentiful. It almost never fills up. Plus, since the 18P bus goes back and forth to the Pentagon, it is a very safe place to slug from because the chances of being stranded are nil. The return trip home is not as easy as the trip into DC. Many drivers who use Rolling Valley in the morning like to return home to Sydenstricker Park and Ride lot in the evening. However, while you might wait a little longer in the evening for a ride home, I have never HAD to use the bus to get home from either the Pentagon or L'Enfant in the evening.
