I have recently moved closer to Potomac Mills (I was slugging from Tacketts) and am having a hard time figuring out WHEN the lot fills up. I have gotten there at 7:45, its full, and I was there today at 7:30 and it was full! When does this lot fill up, and is there ANY other "unofficial" overflow parking nearby so I won't get towed or have to go to Tacketts?
I saw a lot of people walking in from somewhere and would love to know from where?! |

I live closer to Potomac Mills and was slugging from the commuter lot there over the summer, when I began commuting to the city. There were almost always spaces after 8am then; however, once school starts in the fall, I believe that lot fills by 7:30am.
Commuters who arrived after that time WERE parking over by the strip in between Chili's and the Silver Diner, but I think the shooting at the Coast Guard recruiting facility brought attention to the commuters parking in that area - within a couple of days of that incident, the Silver Diner management started distributing notices that commuters would be towed, and there were Private Parking signs posted. There is a very limited amount of parking across the street by Bob Evan's, but that seems to fill up early as well. *WARNING: DO NOT park in the Potomac Mills mall parking, if you can't find a spot in the commuter lot - they WILL tow your car! I wouldn't even risk parking anywhere in the general vicinity of the mall, outside of commuter parking. I have heard plenty of stories of cars being towed from the Bamboo Buffet, outside of the commuter parking by Bob Evan's, by the Silver Diner, etc. Since I don't have to be at work (by L'Enfant Plaza) until 9am, I switched over to the Tackett's Mill commuter lot, where I can generally find parking until around 8:20ish. Having to go back and forth through the Pentagon Metro Station isn't ideal, to say the least, and I would much prefer to park at Potomac Mills and go directly to L'Enfant, but it seems to be the only option in the Woodbridge area after 8am. Anyway, hope that helps. Good luck to you! |
