SOV bashing is quite a different thing. If you were not driving SOV in your hybrid, you would understand the difference.
BTW, the title of this thread is "SOV countdown". |

Yep, have to agree. No more responses to NoSUV from me. Time for all of us to quit, then maybe "it" will go away.

Good post chief pace. I wonder if, when nobody responds to NoSUV, that NoSUV will start another "CENSORSHIP" thread? :p

Just reviewed this string for the first time in a long time and the one thing I was amazed at was the continuing dialogue between NoSUV and some of the regulars. This is actually a pretty sick list if you look at it objectively. NoSUV continues to bait, demean and "dis" most of the posters and it enrages most so much they keep coming back even though you have to know that nothing they could say would change NoSUV's stance. Response is not only futile it is just makes him/her/it better each night.
I personally am really getting off on the PRTC bus thing now. As a contractor I don't get federal stipend but that is okay. It is reliable and and predictable and lets me look at the world from a bit higher elevation. The one thing I do notice as you watch the cars go by the bus is that a great number of the hybrid owners 1. Don't want to slug since they can't depend on getting a car big enough to contain them. 2. Seem to pack real heavy. 3. Don't look like they would be comfortable in the presence of other people anyway. 4. Would never be able to get in and out of the back seat of a 2 door car. 4. Certainly don't care about speed and traffic laws, and 6. Don't seem real happy about the solitude they paid for. I for one look at it as a sort of quarantine that keeps them away from me. The truth is that at the current time hybrids don't totally clog the HOV lane, and what really irks most about the Hybrid exemption is the contradiction between "High Occupancy" and the solitary hybrid drivers. Need to get over it. Just think about NoSUV sitting at home night after night pecking away thinking up new and more snappy retorts to those who don't see the world with the clarity He/She/It does. Depressing isn't it. Even more depressing is providing him a target for his retorts. Go away and come back in a month or two and see plaintive post after post waiting for some one to challenge his well crafted put downs without success. That would be special. Adieu. |

quote: $7K more. I bought mine in 2002. If you keep your polluter as long as I've kept my hybrid, and you put on the same number of miles, mine costs less by this point just in gas savings. And it pollutes far less. About 20% of what you pollute. Why do you care so little for the environment? You have the means - just not the will. --- Now realizing that scottt can neither put up or shut up. |

That only compares the NOX emissions and it very well may be inaccurate. My 1991 Acura Integra got .02 NO PPM in the emissions test when it was still alive. That's the same as the "hybrid". What about the older "dirty" Honda hybrids that drive on SOV every day? There are SUVs that have lower emissions than them.
Those numbers may be some government standard, but most vehicles are nowhere near them when you test them. |
