I'm going to be starting work at the Pentagon in June... Having never tried carpooling or vanpooling..I'm lost... Can I get some pointers??? Thanks!

Some of it depends on where you're living and will be commuting from. No matter the method of transport you end up taking, always have a backup plan, especially in the evenings. The Guaranteed Ride Home program is available (never had to use it) but at least know what the options are for getting home if it's late. What bus lines and what are their schedules (Martz, Omniride, Quicks, etc.), metro, alternative commuter lot destinations, after 6pm slugging options, to name a few. Once you start commuting, you'll find out some of these from your coworkers.
