A slug sent the following sometime back. Some very good points are brought out and is worth considering. "I'm trying to gauge the interest in a Dale City slug line. There are 3 large, well-lit commuter lots along Dale Blvd convenient to the HOV without getting on I-95 itself. The lots are all county maintained for commuting & always have many empty spaces. The locations are Dale & Lindendale (approx 4 miles fm HOV), Dale & Minnieville (behind Giant, 2 miles fm HOV), and Dale & Gideon (in front of Kmart, small lot, 1/4 mile fm HOV). Far better & safer than nearby Montclair where there are 2 lines with no lights, little parking, hostile residents, and somewhat hazardous locations (traffic-wise). Pls respond via this msg board if interested & give your preferred location."

So did a Dale City slug line ever get started? If so, where does it pick up and drop off?

As far as I know, no. There has been some sporatic interest, but nobody has taken this on to get it started. It sounds like a good location with a lot of potential.

I meet a friend at the Dale City lot (Giant - Minnieville and Dale Blvd.) and then we drive to Horner Rd. to get a slug. Anytime I have tried to pick up a slug in Dale City, I get angry looks. So I gave up. Would make the commute easier if I could just make one stop.
BTW, we come up 14th to I street. Destination is 15th and M. Marcia |

I am interested in being a driver. My destination is the Pentagon area, and I have a parking pass for the Fashion Center Mall (Macy's). My schedule is 8:30 - 5:00, Mon - Thur, with late hours on Fridays, so that day is out for slugging. If this works for two or three of you (four if you are slim), feel free to let me know.

I work in Crystal City (12th/Clark) and live at the end of Dale Blvd (near Hoadly) but would be interested in one of the lots along Dale Blvd if anyone else is as a rider.

Hello there!
For a week this summer, I'm staying with my sis in Dale City & need to get up to Alexandria (Braddock Road), flexible business hours. Any help would be most appreciated. If I could even be pointed in the right direction of public transport from a drop-off point, ok! Eileen |

You can catch a slug ride to the Pentagon and then take a Metro bus to your Braddock Rd destination in Alexandria. [:)]
You can determine which bus line at http://www.wmata.com . |

Thanks SluDgE.
I think slug-lines is so cool, I really want to participate during my visit but needed a starting point. Eileen |
