I've heard about this slugging thing. I want to know how likely it is to get a ride from Dumfries, Va to Bolling AFB. Would I be better off just riding thru and trying to pick someone up and if so how does that work? Do I have to do anything to be able to pick people up or is it just drive by and see if anyone is going where I am. I just want to know before I actually have to start working

Not likely that you'll find slugs standing in line for Bolling AFB since that's not one of the usual morning destinations. Please check the Morning Slug Lines tab on this site's Home page for slug lines near Dumfries and their morning destinations.
It'll probably be best for you to drive, pick up slugs for an interim destination like the Pentagon or Crystal City, use the HOV lanes, drop off your slugs, then drive the rest of the way by yourself. Be sure to check all the good info about sluggin' at this website's home page. |

There are a lot of us the Slug, that are stationed at Bolling/Anacostia. We may want to talk to the base about setting up and area.

A Slug line to the base would not work due to the fact that all occupants need to have a valid Mil/Civ ID to get on base. I for one would not vouche for a total stranger I picked up on the street and get them on base.

Best thing to do would be drop-off at either the Pentagon or Le'fante Plaza, very easy to get to and right back on to 395.
