Has anyone noticed there are bullies/drivers who use the fact that you are trapped in their cars to be rude and downright nasty?

I'm starting to feel this is a bad post for slugs to reply too..
This is a shared system folks. Most of us were raised with manners, it's time to start using them. XOXO- sluggin' girl |

I've never met rude drivers but just bad drivers.
Another thing, are drivers liable for slugs if they are injured in a car accident? this driver gave me no choice on wearing a seat belt...which is good...but he told me to wear it or else |

quote: Are you speaking generally or do you mean this is a recent development? I slugged for many years and never experienced anything like that, but I have been strictly a driver for the past 3 or 4 years. |

Rickie:"Or else," what?
99.9 percent of the drivers are wonderful.Courteous, kind and cautious drivers. I could never drive as well as most of them under the stress of the commute. Someone explained the seat belt law to me. It is in the best interest of the driver for us to wear our seat belts. I can't go into all the details about the rude drivers. It IS cumlative. I will say, these people probably wouldn't bother with this forum. |

Sounds like someone is bored and just trying to stir the old "us vs them" pot.

There is no law for people (adults) in the back seat when it comes to seat belt in VA, however in DC the rear seat passengers are required to wear one.
I got in the car the other day and was in the back seat at potomac, the driver asked me to put on my seat belt, i did so without question since it is his car. Funny thing is two days later my wife and I drove in and ended up giving that same driver a ride, my wife joked to me later that we should have made sure he had on his seatbelt LOL, but he was a very nice guy. quote: |

I always checked my slugs for wearing a seatbelt. There may not be a law requiring rear seat passengers to wear a seatbelt, but I would strongly object to a slug going through my windshield or ending up in my lap if there was an accident. Fortunately nearly everyone wears seatbelts these days which shows the great intelligence of slugs.
On only a couple of occassions have I had someone not wear a seatbelt and when reminded all but one quickly complied. The one exception that I can recall stated that he was OK and didn't need a seatbelt. I pointed out that "my car, my rules" and either he wears the seatbelt or finds another ride. He chose to get his free ride under the standard I set. While he may have thought I was treating him like a child, I think I handled it politely and was acting in my best interest and the best interest of the other slug. |
