Yesterday early evening I was picked up from Crystal City slug line to Hoerner Rd. You might recall it was raining so roads were slick. Driver is young male driving 2 door Honda manual shift. Anyway, he was holding a 75-80 mph speed. I then indicated to the driver that I felt very unsafe driving beyond the speed limit on wet roads. He then asked me if I slugged often. Quit often I replied. He then asked if I wanted out of the car on the HOV. I replied to the driver...is it my choice to be dropped off on the HOV or continue driving beyond the speed limit? He said nothing and dropped his speed to 55-60 mph. Around 3 miles out from Hoerner he changed his speed back to 75-80 mph.
Is there any recourse for a situation such as this other than I won't be getting into this same Honda again. Terry |

Unless you were harassed and want to file a criminal complaint, there is nothing you can do. You voluntarily got into that car for a free ride home, therefore, that driver could drop you wherever he wanted to, unfortunately. You take the risks that come with slugging when you get into a car.

That's so funny.
I've had slugs whine and moan because I drive the speed limit all the time. Just no pleasing a slug! Keep slugging alive - tip your driver today! |

quote: So many ways to go with that. I'll stick with the safe one where most drivers please me by getting me from point A to point B. I like being pleased. NoSb SOV because you can, HOV because you care! |

Terri_1, you did the right thing. I've too have asked a couple of drivers to slow down. They didn't like it, but at least I'm here to write about it. The only thing you can do in the future is simply pass on a ride from them. Good luck.
