Extend HOV to 1900 Hrs

   Id like to propose a new topic. I think that HOV should be extended to 1900 Hrs (7pm). I have found that as 1800Hrs approaches, cars are willing to wait around and not pick up riders so they dont have to be inconvenienced. I think by extending HOV hours they will have that incentive. Has this ever been discussed before? Have others ever thought of this while standing in line? How can we make this happen? 

	And please dont bring the HOT into the discussion. Ill believe thats going to happen when the heavy equipment is seen working out there. In the mean time, how else can we lobby to improve the system in simple quantifiable ways? I think extending it by an hour will help significantly.

	I have been in favor and written legislators about this several times. In the end they won't do it. Like the absurd hybrid and police exemptions, the powers that be just want the lanes used as much as possible, regardless of how much they slow our commute. They only keep the HOV rules in place for the federal cash and have no interest in promoting more useage by slugging, instead want to find more ways to give exemptions and let people in.

	Pressure on the appropriate people/entities by the MASSES. One person can't do it alone. I agree that HOV should be extended at least until 7 pm.
