I thought about writing signs with pieces of posterboard advertising slugging. Then getting someone to stand on 14th right before the entrance ramp to I-395 and hold up the signs. Homeless people or unemployed environmental activists looking for something to do post Earth Day.
Something like: - You could be in the HOV. slug-lines.com - Hate traffic? Try casual carpooling as a slug. - If you had two more passengers, you wouldn't be stuck here. - Casual carpool in the HOV with slug-line.com - Springfield, Lorton, Woodbridge, Stafford, Frederickburg drivers, see slug-lines.com to cut commute time. - Commute fast and free down I-95. slug-lines.com ------------ Do any of these sound good? Any more suggestions? |

I have a WWII Propoganda poster from when they were saving fuel for the troops...
It says "When you ride alone, you ride with HITLER!" and it has a dude driving his car with a ghosty lookin' Hitler in the passenger seat." If I could find someone to print this in large scale, I'd be posting it up at the commuter lots. EDIT: Here, I found a print of it online... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ride_with_hitler.jpg ------------------------- Times to beat: Horner Rd to/from Pentagon: 12 mins Without Slugs - 17 mins With slugs Dale City exit to/from 3rd St Tunnel, D.C. 18 mins (No slugs - Holiday) |

If they are willing to sit in that traffic they are obviously in no rush to get home.

quote: Oh... I get it... That was a suggestion for a sign. I see what you did there. I thought it was a poke at either the OP or myself. ------------------------- Times to beat: Horner Rd to/from Pentagon: 12 mins Without Slugs - 17 mins With slugs Dale City exit to/from 3rd St Tunnel, D.C. 18 mins (No slugs - Holiday) |
